What Ridley Scott built in the first movie, director Denis Villeneuve turns into another masterpiece.

Much like The Force Awakens, Ford is in a supporting role, arriving once the new characters and story has been established. "How long have I got?"

"I was living with this movie every day as a reference, so that was enough for me". There was something about it that spoke to me as a kid that I couldn't let go of. In fact, I will only discuss that in person, preferably over a drink, in a heated argument. Though, their reactions were effusive. Leto said the screenplay was "absolutely mind-blowing". "I found him to be just an incredible director and I'm truly thankful that I had the chance to do this film with him". In Blade Runner 2049, set three decades after Scott's film, he has to re-create and expand Blade Runner, convincingly imagining how it might have changed over the years and reaching beyond its all-too-familiar milieu to envision the rest of its dying world.

Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment have handled this film so gingerly and secretively you'd think it was a weakened, dying worker bee - not a thriving, vigorous and utterly confident example of what a cinematic revisitation ought to be. That's barely even setting it up.

The rest of the plot is shrouded in the type of secrecy usually reserved for superhero movies and Star Wars. A movie like this doesn't come along often. The original film from 1982 is considered to be a classic by many people.

Make no mistake: Whereas the original "Blade Runner" was (eventually) embraced for its unrealized potential, its sequel ranks as one of the great science-fiction films of all time.

Chaos in Uganda's Parliament
Some parliamentarians want to introduce a bill that would change that law, allowing the president to extend his rule. Parliament communications director Chris Obore told Reuters the motion was successful.

The performances are excellent across the board. He's met co-stars on top form: Robin Wright's "Madame", K's superior, is brilliantly ballsy, while Gosling's relationship with Joi, a hologram played by Ana De Armas, has a bittersweet tone. Countless other films have aped Blade Runner's iconography, but this one inhabits it, and tells its own tale in a very entertaining manner. "2049" carries on this idea with a mesmerizing color palette presented by Villeneuve and production designer Dennis Gassner. It's not just dark to be cool. K is nearly as lonely as Deckard, who returns here, though in a way that will be a bit unexpected by most viewers.

Bilge Ebiri (Village Voice) writes, "Careful, dutiful, and handsome, "Blade Runner 2049" can not achieve the sublime slipperiness of Scott's masterpiece". Blade Runner 2049 is a world you want to feel like you're walking around in, not observing from afar.

Ford knows all about it. Rick Deckard is the third role that Ford has revisited in the last ten years, joining both Indiana Jones and Han Solo - which role will be next for the actor?

If Leto had his way, that question would continue into the future.

Find out for yourself when Blade Runner 2049 is unleashed upon the world October 6.
