Cowboys' value climbs to $4.8bn atop Forbes' NFL list

The Dallas Cowboys have again been named the NFL's most valuable team for the 11th year running

The Packers are worth an estimated $2.55 billion, 13th-most in the league.

The Patriots come in second ($3.7 billion) with the Giants ($3.3 billion), Washington ($3.1 billion) and 49ers rounding out the top five.

The Cowboys' new valuation means that they are now the world's most valuable franchise for the third straight year.

The publication said the value of the Cowboys, who have been the most valuable National Football League team for the last 11 years, rose 14 percent over last year. The team recently wrapped up a $47 million round of renovations at Bank of America Stadium, which was part of a five-year, $87.5 million public-private financing agreement with the City of Charlotte.

2013: $840 million (31st of 32 teams).

The Panthers had profits of $102 million last season, Forbes said, thanks to ticket sales, merchandise sales and other revenue streams.

The Las Vegas-bound Raiders are 19th on the list at $2.38 billion, a one-year increase of 13 percent.

Globally, according to Forbes' rankings of July, the Cowboys are followed by baseball's New York Yankees at $3.7 billion, a figure the Patriots have now tied.
