Jane Fonda shuts down Megyn Kelly's plastic surgery question

Legendary actress Jane Fonda has been the spokesperson for many a political cause in Hollywood over the decades, but she shot down a question about plastic surgery from talk show host Megyn Kelly this week - asking her to change the subject.

Sharing an audience question, Kelly asked, "if you could go back to any age in your life, what would it be?"

"Well, one of the things people think about when they look at you is how incredible you look", the host continued.

It's day three of Megyn Kelly's daytime talk show, Megyn Today and the former Fox News commentator has already hit a few bumps in the road. You look fantastic. Why did you say, I read that you're not proud to admit that you've had work done.

Not. Having. A. Bar.

Robert Redford, her co-star in Our Souls At Night and who has worked with Fonda going back as far as 1967, visibly sniggered as she veered away from the plastic surgery question.

Kelly, who moved to NBC from Fox News earlier this year, received criticism for the interview, during which she brought out Will & Grace fan Russell Turner to meet the cast of the show. Good attitude. Good posture.

A 1.9 overall rating, which will likely go up, is still a strong showing for the third hour of "Today" should she be able to maintain that number. "Take care of myself", Fonda said impatiently.

But Kelly couldn't take a hint and continued her line of questioning: "Well, one of the things people think when they look at you is how incredible you look", she said. "Why not?" Kelly asked.

"Is it true you became a lawyer, and you became gay, because of Will?"

The comment wasn't just a compliment-though it made Fonda smile and put her at ease-it was also a call to embrace the moment and use her experience, rather than feel anchored by it.
