North Korea Threatens To Use Nuclear Weapon To 'Sink' Japan

Pyongyang 'fires unidentified missile' over Japan in new weapons test

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday called for strict enforcement of a United Nations resolution against North Korea over its latest nuclear test, saying the world must force a change in Pyongyang's policies.

The statement from a group called the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee attacked the United States for leading a push for stronger U.N. sanctions against North Korea, as well as Japan for joining the USA campaign. That didn't work. North Korea withdrew from the treaty and continued its nuclear pursuit.

Nuclear-armed North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan on August 29 in a major escalation of tensions by Pyongyang.

North Korea mentioned its EMP attack capabilities on September 4 on the pages of the Workers' Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun, a day after its sixth nuclear test.

The recent nuclear test was the sixth and most powerful test North Korea has conducted since its first in 2006, demonstrating a stunning advance in the country's ability to build high-yield nuclear weapons.

Criticising the North's statement, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said yesterday: "This announcement is extremely provocative and egregious".

Feds ban Russian software from government computer networks
It said it was not a telecoms provider and so not subject to the Russian laws Duke referred to on cooperation with the government. The department is giving Kaspersky 90 days to prove its products are not a security risk or to mitigate the concerns.

"Japan is no longer needed to exist near us", the state-run Korean Central News Agency said on Thursday, citing a statement by the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.

According to the statement, both leaders agreed to work together to deal with the current serious situation and called on the worldwide community to rigorously and fully implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions to maximise pressure on North Korea.

He said in an interview on Fox News: "I've worked on an executive order that's ready if the president wants to use it".

Nauert pointed out that the Security Council adopted the resolution with a unanimous vote with China and Russian Federation, expressing hope that the two nations will faithfully implement the new sanctions.

Coming on the heels of new U.N. Security Council sanctions against the North, the news has caused a stir in South Korea as well. But the data were not sufficient to determine what type of nuclear device the North had detonated, it said. "If it proves it can live in peace, the world will live in peace with it", she said.

In Seoul, the South Korean government said it was considering providing the North, via United Nations agencies, $8 million in aid for humanitarian assistance for infants and pregnant women, according to the South's Yonhap News Agency.
