Odd doings in Alabama, Part Two

President Trump

Luther Strange - the other Republican candidate who President Trump will stump for on Saturday - in all recent public polling of the runoff, The Hill reports.

"Luther's opponent wants to send a message". Polling has been a bit all over the map, and while the race appears to have tightened, odd has struggled to keep up with the recalcitrant former judge, who has consistently led in head-to-head polls, sometimes by double digits.

The last Republican senator to succumb to a primary challenge was Sen. After serving in the Army, Judge Moore completed his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1977. He was twice removed as chief justice of Alabama's top state court for defying the federal courts - first in 2003 for displaying a giant Ten Commandments monument at the state judicial building.

Unlike Flake and Heller, however, odd has had Trump's support throughout the election, even while his opponent has received backing from many pro-Trump corners of the party. "And maybe I would".

Odd also has his share of political baggage.

The president will make his visit to Alabama just days before the GOP runoff between unusual and Judge Roy Moore, the top candidates in last month's Republican primary. Bentley then appointed him to the Senate seat before resigning.

How Theresa May brokered peace deal with Boris Johnson amid resignation fears
May has called a cabinet meeting for Thursday where she will ask ministers for approval of her speech before delivering it Friday. Speaking in New York , Johnson was asked by reporters if he planned to resign in footage aired by Sky News.

"Strange-McConnell forces care not one twit about the truth", Brooks told Times Daily. This Senate race is down to this.

Brooks said he had already voted for Moore via absentee ballot.

The former judge has also enjoyed an uptick of positive coverage from Breitbart News, the website espousing white nationalist views, ever since Steve Bannon left the Trump administration and rejoined the outlet this month. Sarah Palin's own behavior and beliefs should also be of concern to Alabama voters.

McConnell and his allies have been fighting to make sure that won't happen.

In backing Strange, Trump finds himself on the opposite side of former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon and other conservatives who have thrown their weight behind Moore.

Just about like the division the GOP exhibited in 2016.
