Benchmarks show your iPhone might not be slowing down over time

Here are the 42 new emoji we know are coming to your iPhone, ranked!

That's in direct contrast to the often repeated but false claim that Apple intentionally breaks or slows down devices when new phones come out. Somehow this belief has automatically become a fact and Apple has had to face a lot of flak over it. What they found was that there was no data indicating Apple slowed down older iPhones.

However, the best thing about the apps is that they allow you to download movies and TV shows so you can watch them offline anytime, without the need of Wi-Fi or data connection. The app tested both CPU and GPU performance over time to get an accurate view of overall performance.

The researchers found that there was some very minor fall in the performance of the phones' CPU over time.

Futuremark thinks Apple actually does a pretty good job of supporting older iPhones since it sends out regular updates and manages to maintain a consistent level of performance across iOS iterations.

California becomes a 'sanctuary state' to protect immigrants from Trump administration
It is the signature piece of a package of 11 bills establishing protections for undocumented residents of California. Trump administration slammed California for passing the bill, raising concerns over "criminal aliens".

When you update your iPhone and iPad to iOS 11.1, expect to see hundreds of new emoji. The update also brings 3D Touch Multitasking back to iOS devices.

The graphics performance for the iPhone 6, 6S and 7 also remained consistent, while processor performance dipped slightly with successive iOS updates. On the other hand, the release said, an older app might not be optimized for newer models as well. "There is always the psychological effect of knowing that there is a new and improved model available, which can make your own device seem outdated", the company concluded.

This may be the most woke emoji set yet. One plausible explanation is simply that seeing the latest and greatest device demoed leads some people to feel like their phone is slower, even if nothing has changed. The company did benchmark tests on devices which had iOS 9, 10 and 11.

It's a perennial question asked in offices, pubs, shops and across the internet every year in the run up to the launch of a new iPhone: does Apple slow down older iPhones to make you buy new ones. It does, however, concede that updates might add new features that use more resources or require more processing power, which might affect "people's perception of performance".
