Pete Carroll wins challenge, Seahawks even with Texans again

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson left and Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman

Most of the National Football League's Houston Texans team knelt in protest as the national anthem was played for Sunday's game in Seattle, an apparent rebuke of team owner Bob McNair for his remark about "inmates running the prison". According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans are planning some sort of group protest prior to the game. But they ultimately made a decision to sit or kneel during the anthem.

McNair did not meet with the players on Friday after the comment but instead waited until Saturday morning to apologize personally - which reportedly bothered some of the team's players.

Despite rumors that the players would remove the Texans decals from their helmets, they ended up leaving them on.

It appears that McNair's apology was not enough for some players.

Duane Brown and Jadeveon Clowney were among the majority of Texans players who took a knee and linked arms during the pre-game anthem.

Metal Gear Survive Launches February 2018
However, a mysterious hole opens up in the sky and transports the survivors to a odd location. Konami has announced some Survival pack DLC for those who pre-order the game.

In arguing for the league to do something, McNair said they can't have "inmates running the prison."

McNair released a second statement, arguing that he was referring to the NFL league office, not the players when he made the comment.

But McNair's seeming comparison of the league's players to "inmates" sparked a bitter backlash from players across the league - and even from players in other sports. "I was not referring to [Texans] players".

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick launched the anthem protests in 2016, refusing to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" to draw attention to racial injustice by law enforcement agencies.
