Proteas complete comfortable ODI Series Clean Sweep

Be afraid AB de Villiers looks back to his best

Preview: Aiden Markram looks set to make his one-day global debut in the third and final match between South Africa and Bangladesh at Buffalo Park on Sunday.

South Africa pulled off another thumping win over Bangladesh, this time by 200 runs, to complete a 3-0 one-day series sweep Sunday to go with the 2-0 victory in the Tests.

The top scorer for South Africa was captain Faf du Plessis who scored 91 before retiring hurt. At the other end of the scale Markram looked as though he had a maiden century for the taking (66 off 60 balls, 4 fours and 2 sixes) before he ran himself out attempting a second run. The absence of Hashim Amla made little difference as Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma shared an opening stand of 119 that set up the Proteas for their best total against Bangladesh of 369/6 and they only lost 12 wickets in the entire series.

Du Plessis had added 151 for the third wicket with Aiden Markram, the debutant, when he had to be helped off the field, just nine short of his ninth ODI century.

A Fox News anchor then concluded the segment , calling Garofalo a "great guy" and saying, "I hope he gets to meet the president". While the seal he created exists, Garofalo's claims about his military experience were bogus.

South Africa stuttered in the middle overs with the wickets of AB de Villiers, Andile Phehlukwayo and Wiaan Mulder, another player on debut, falling in quick succession. The lower-order batting from South Africa was disappointing. Liton Das followed suit, getting trapped leg-before-wicket by the same bowler, Dane Paterson.

But all-rounder Shakib al Hasan and No 7 batsman Sabbir Rahman formed a 77-run partnership for the sixth wicket to save the Tigers' blushes. Shakib was the only batsman to score a fifty in Bangladesh's innings.

Chasing a massive 370-run target, Bangladesh were bundled out for only 169 within 40.4 overs. He will miss the two-match Twenty20 global series next week, where JP Duminy will now take over as skipper.
