Trump expected to decertify Iran nuclear deal

Donald Trump

Trump will reportedly say the agreement - reached in 2015 after years of negotiations between Iran and six world powers - is not in the U.S. national interest.

The Republican president faces an October 15 deadline for certifying that Iran is complying with the deal.

Opposition to the deal was a major part of his campaign previous year.

The US President reportedly summoned reporters to a dinner with his highest-ranking military aides and their wives for a group photo, telling them: "You know what this represents? Maybe it's the calm before the storm".

"What storm?", the reporters asked.

"Moving forward, I also expect you to provide me with a broad range of military options, when needed, at a much faster pace".

If Trump were to decertify the agreement, the decision would be left to Congress as to whether economic sanctions would be returned to Iran.

Trump has fiercely criticized it as a one-sided deal that gives Iran all the advantages.

According to the Trump, the Iranian regime has been indulging in the terrorist activity and exporting violence which is creating wreck in the whole Middle East.

Then, there's the ongoing tensions with North Korea.

He responded: "You'll find out".

European signatories to the agreement with Iran - the UK, France and Germany - are "focusing their energies on lobbying Congress not to reimpose sanctions", The Guardian says.

President Donald Trump has once again stoked the flames of war and this time he did it while surrounded by a room full of military leaders.

In a speech last month at the United Nations, Trump warned that the United States would "totally destroy" North Korea if needed to defend itself or USA allies.

The plan is for "harsh sanctions" against the IRGC, Iran's most powerful security organization which also dominates significant areas of the Iranian economy.

During the same hearing, Gen. Joseph Dunford said he believes Iran is not in material breach of the accord, which he believes has delayed Tehran's nuclear capability.
