Whole Foods Locations in NY, NJ Hit by Credit Card Breach

In all, traffic was 17 percent higher during the week after the price reductions, and was four percent higher about two weeks after the lower prices began.

On August 28, the day of the takeover, we visited a Whole Foods location in California, where things looked promising: milk was 50 cents cheaper, organic brown eggs had dropped in price by a buck, and the cost organic rotisserie chicken was slashed by $4.

Whole Foods' price cuts did get a lot of attention. But even though the notoriously overpriced grocery chain has marked down a handful of popular items like avocados, eggs, and almonds, new data gathered by research firm Gordon Haskett shows that some prices may be creeping back up.

The move didn't significantly change its demographics, according to the new survey, released Tuesday.

According to Thasos Group, which analyses mobile location data of 10% of the United States population, customer traffic shot up 31% compared to the same time a year ago on the first day that Amazon cut prices on select items at Whole Foods on 28th August. Back to Trader Joe's?

UF's top receiver Cleveland may miss LSU game
Franks, a redshirt freshman who has been benched twice this season, came on in relief and completed 10 of 14 passes for 185 yards. Del Rio was knocked out the game when he took a solid hit with just under five minutes left in the second quarter.

Three other stores saw big defection rates for their total customer base: Trader Joe's (10 percent), Sprouts (8 percent) and Target (3 percent), according to the report.

A number of retailers were hit hard by Whole Foods price cuts. Walmart shoppers accounted for 24 percent of Whole Foods' new customers in the first week, but accounted for less than 1 percent of its new customers by the third week.

The investigation is ongoing and Whole Foods will provide additional updates as more information comes forward.

Amazon completed $500,000 in online sales in the first week after it started offering Whole Foods' "365 Everyday Value" products, according to the One Click Retail, an e-commerce data analytics firm that focuses on the site's transactions.
