Andy Murray savagely trolls Donald Trump over Time magazine controversy

The monthly magazine gave Trump that distinction a year ago and paired it with a scathing feature piece that appeared to lean more toward "worse" than "better".

Regardless, it isn't true, Time said shortly after Trump's tweet.

Earlier today, President Trump took to Twitter to claim he rejected an interview and a photo shoot with Time Magazine he was "PROBABLY" going to be Person of the Year.

"Not a speck of truth here-Trump tweets he "took a pass" at being named TIME's person of the year".

Trump claimed on Twitter on Friday that he had taken himself out of consideration after he refused to meet the magazine's "requirements" for an interview and photo shoot without being guaranteed the title.

But added that they had also requested for an interview and photo shoot. The magazine said it doesn't comment on its choice until publication, the Associated Press reported.

Weather warning: Yorkshire told to expect heavy rain and strong winds
There will be delays on the roads and rail with outbreaks of heavy rain that will add to the hard travel conditions. The average November rainfall for all of England is 3.5in (90mm), rising to 5.5in (140mm) for the North West.

In December 2016, Time editors announced they had selected Trump as their "Person of the Year", beating out Hillary Clinton, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, United Kingdom Independence Party leader Nigel Farage, singer Beyoncé, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and whistleblowers in Flint, Mich.

Trump frequently brags about appearing on the cover of the iconic magazine.

"They used to call it "Man of the Year" but they can't do that anymore so they call it person - they want to be politically correct, that's OK", he said at a rally in Iowa.

Hollywood just called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named the next James Bond but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot.

Time named Trump its Person of the Year last year. English comedian David Schneider tweeted.

But when he was honoured with the title past year, there was a change in tone.
