Jude Law's In Negotiations To Play Mar-Vell In Captain Marvel

Jude Law to Star Opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel

Carol Danvers is an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after an accident fuses her DNA with that of a powerful Kree (alien) warrior. Now, word has come down that Law may have landed the male lead opposite Brie Larson's title character in Captain Marvel. There are now no specific details on his role, but Variety, which first reported the news, says Law will play a mentor to the new superhero. In addition to Larson, Law joins Samuel L. Jackson who reprises his role as a two-eyed Nick Fury as Marvel is dialing back the clock for the film, setting it during the 1990s. He'll also be seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, playing Young Dumbledore opposite Johnny Depp (ugh) as Young Grindelwald.

Mar-Vell was a spy sent by the Kree to keep an eye on Earth, who found himself playing the role of a superhero known as Captain Marvel. He is also still attached to appear in a third Sherlock Holmes movie with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. Both of those films are set up at Warner Brothers.
