Weinstein in covert ops to halt complaints

Harvey Weinstein hired former Israeli intelligence officials to intimidate accusers and news outlets from speaking out against the Hollywood mogul's sexual assault and rape allegations, the New Yorker reported on Monday.

One Black Cube operative who called herself Diana Filip, the deputy head of sustainable and responsible investments at Reuben Capital Partners, a London-based wealth management firm, met with McGowan several times on the premise that she wanted to launch an initiative to combat discrimination against women in the workplace.

Barak issued a statement to Channel 2 that read: "Over a year ago, he was asked by Weinstein if he knows about an Israeli security firm that Weinstein had heard about and can help him deal with business issues he's now facing".

A statement released on Barak's behalf read: "Barak confirmed to Weinstein that the firm he heard about was probably Black Cube and that it does operate from Israel".

"Barak was not aware until this morning of the fact the company was hired by Weinstein, or for what purposes or operations", the statement added.

Weinstein "unequivocally denies" all claims of non-consensual sex, a spokeswoman for the producer said.

It added: "Black Cube supports the work of many leading law firms around the world, especially in the United States, gathering evidence for complex legal processes, involving commercial disputes, among them uncovering negative campaigns".

On its website, the agency bills itself as a "select group of veterans from the Israeli elite intelligence units that specializes in tailored solutions to complex business and litigation challenges". Another was corporate intelligence giant Kroll, according to the magazine.

Pentagon says securing North Korea's nukes would require ground invasion
But that doesn't mean it hasn't considered its options. "There are no good military options for North Korea ". But behind the scenes, Trump may be more interested in talking than he lets on.

Police in London, Los Angeles and NY have launched investigations into the alleged behaviour by Weinstein, 65, who has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by more than 90 women.

The investigator reportedly used a different fake identity to meet a NY magazine journalist who was investigating allegations made against Weinstein.

According to the report, during the one-year period the firm worked for Weinstein, Black Cube agents targeted dozens of individuals to collect personal information on them, including their sexual histories, in a bid to prevent them from publicly accusing Weinstein of sexual harassment or assault.

The same operative also suggested to a NY magazine reporter that she had an allegation against Weinstein, apparently trying to keep the reporter away from legitimate accusations.

The New Yorker claims Boies had signed a contract demanding that Black Cube seek to uncover information to stop the publication of a New York Times story about Weinstein's sexual abuse when his firm was also representing the Times in a libel case. Among them was David Boies, who represented Al Gore in his 2000 presidential election dispute with George W Bush. Farrow discovered that Diana Filip is an alias for a former officer in the Israel Defense Forces who originally came from Eastern Europe and was working for Black Cube, he reported, citing three individuals with knowledge of the situation.

Neither Hofmeister nor Boies immediately responded to requests for comment.

McGowan praised Farrow for his investigation, writing on Twitter that "your words will line the halls of justice". We were followed by ex-Mossad agents.
