Chinese Media Claims Indian Drone Invaded China's Airspace, Violated 'Territorial Sovereignty'

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov will discuss key strategic issues at a day-long session in New Delhi on December 11

China today said an Indian drone had recently "intruded" into its airspace and crashed in the Sikkim sector, prompting it to lodge a diplomatic protest to India over the violation of China's territorial sovereignty.

"India's move has infringed upon China's territorial sovereignty, and we are strongly dissatisfied with and opposed to this", Zhang said. "The matter is being dealt with in accordance with the established protocol through institutional mechanisms to deal with situations along the India-China border areas", the statement said.

China did not give any exact location or time of the crash.

"China asks India to immediately stop its activities of using unmanned aircraft near the border, and to work alongside China to maintain the border area's peace and tranquillity", Shuang said, quoted in Reuters. However, there was no immediate response from the Indian Defence Ministry.

This new friction along the border comes months after the two governments finally resolved a 70-odd day standoff between border troops near the Sikkim boundary in August.

Indian and Chinese troops were in a face-to-face situation near the Sikkim sector of the worldwide border after the Chinese People's Liberation Army tried to build a road in Doklam in mid-June.

Bryan Singer Fired From Queen Biopic Amid Reports of Erratic Behavior
The film's cinematographer, Thomas Newton Sigel , stepped in as a substitute director during several of Singer's absences. One source told THR that Singer claims to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, due to on-set tensions.

"We will fulfil our mission and responsibility and defend China's national sovereignty and security resolutely", he said.

On the sidelines of the RIC Foreign Ministers' meeting, Wang will hold talks with top Indian officials, Geng said.

It has also been reported earlier that PLA was slowly starting to increase the number of troops at the border and Beijing has once again started working on its roads and upgrading and widening the existing routes. India had objected to the construction highlighting its security concerns.

Wang's visit to Delhi is regarded significant as it would set tone for President Xi Jinping's policy approach to India in his second term as the head of the ruling Communist Party of China.

In the Doklam Standoff and relations with Japan, Chinese propaganda machine has fanned a new round of nationalistic fervour against, the two countries, Wang wrote in an article in the Post recently, referribng to India and Japan.
