Google to Flag Apps That Snoop Without Permission

Google's new announcements at 'Google for India'

Developers have been given 60 days to comply with what is described as an expansion of Google's existing Unwanted Software Policy. They will also have to expressly ask for consent to share the data; while also highlight how the information will be used.

While Android OS is often exploited due to its open platform, Google has begun cracking down on the applications that aren't playing by the rules. Additionally, the app also features a big button at the top of the screen that will cut down all the background consumption of data on your device. If Google flags an app or site, the webmasters can get guidance on the Search Console about the remediation and resolution of the warning.

"These data collection requirements apply to all functions of the app". The new restrictions provided by "Safe Browsing team' cites that apps are required to provide their privacy policy and prompt users to share their data". This will apply at all times; for instance, the list of installed apps on your device can not be sent from your device during a crash report without consent. If the requirements listed are not met, warnings may be shown on user devices through Google Play Protect or on webpages that lead to these apps.

The changes reflect an update in August to the Personal and Sensitive Information section of Google's Developer Policy Center.

Ed Sheeran to Release Hit Track PERFECT with Beyonce Today!
After teasing the collaboration on Instagram Thursday morning, Ed Sheeran released his remix of " Perfect " featuring Beyonce . Michael Tran/FilmMagicIf you thought Ed Sheeran's " Perfect " couldn't get any more, well, ideal - think again.

It must also be displayed within the normal usage of the app and not be buried in settings.

Google notes that two common violations are when an app doesn't treat a user's installed apps as personal or sensitive user data and when an app doesn't treat the user's phone or contact book as personal data. Android users will now see Google Safe Browsing warnings on app and websites that collect the user's personal data without their consent.

The company did not say whether the new policy of privacy violation warnings will apply to its own software as well.
