Nebraska reportedly hiring UCF's Scott Frost as new head coach

Scott Frost hired as Nebraska's new head football coach

At the time, the Knights were an out-and-out mess and were coming off an 0-12 season. The state of Nebraska and the Husker program mean a great deal to me.

Frost reflected on his two seasons at UCF in the interview and noted that there are only a few places in the country where he'd like to be the head coach - a list that seemed to include Nebraska.

When asked about interest from Nebraska, Frost replied, "I'd be hurt if Nebraska wasn't interested in me".

The 42-year-old Frost, who will be introduced at a Sunday news conference, takes over for Mike Riley, who was sacked last Saturday.

Right now, the Knights are focused on taking care of business and winning a conference championship. Nebraska won the National title in 1997 with Frost at the helm.

Microsoft plans major 'Redmond Campus of the Future' expansion
This bridge will also connect to the upcoming Redmond Technology Transit Station , which will welcome Link Light Rail in 2023. Microsoft says the new campus will be "built for pedestrians and bikes" with auto parking moved underground.

He then went to OR to work as receivers coach under Kelly, and when Helfrich took over as head coach in 2013, he appointed Frost as his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He was the starting quarterback in 1996 and on the Huskers last national championship team in 1997.

A finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as a senior who became just the 10th player in college football history to rush and pass for more than 1,000 yards in a season, Frost was drafted by the New Jets with the 67th overall pick in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft.

Frost will be the first person since Frank Solich to both play and coach at Nebraska.

"I am thrilled that [Frost] is returning to his alma mater to lead the Husker football program", Moos said. "I would not have the opportunity to be in this position without a lot of great people who have helped me throughout my career", Frost added in his statement.
