The Pentagon spent millions investigating UFOs

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid

An investigative piece by the New York Times reveals a secretive Pentagon UFO program.

The program produced documents describing sightings of unidentified flying objects that reportedly moved very fast with no clear sign of propulsion or hovered with no readily apparent means of lift.

"I think it's one of the good things I did in my congressional service".

The shock revelation has finally disclosed the true aim of the mysterious Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.

The mystery into whether or not we're alone in the universe has been a constant question for over 6 decades and it looks like the Defense Department wanted some answers. "I've done something that no one has done before".

But Mr. Elizondo said the only thing that had ended was the effort's government funding, which dried up in 2012.

North Korea 'directly responsible' for cyberattack in May, White House official says
North Korea on Tuesday rejected a recent offer by the USA for talks without preconditions, calling it a ploy to make Pyongyang give up its nuclear programme.

Leaked records appear to show the United States government was secretly investigating reports of aircraft moving at "very high velocities with no visible signs of propulsion, or that hovered with no apparent means of lift".

In one eerie encounter, a whitish oval object, about the size of a commercial plane, was chased by two Navy F/A-18F fighter jets from the aircraft carrier Nimitz off the coast of San Diego.

Contracts consulted by the New York Times show that these millions of dollars were mainly intended for Bigelow Aerospace, the company of billionaire Robert Bigelow to assess the threat posed by these UFOs.

And working to keep a program that he was sure would draw scrutiny from others, Reid said he, Stevens and Inouye made sure there was never any public debate about the program on the Senate floor during budget debates. It is a rare instance of ongoing government investigations into a UFO phenomenon that was the subject of multiple official inquiries in the 1950s and 1960s. But in interviews, he said his ultimate intention was to shed light on a little-known programme Elizondo himself ran for seven years: a low-key Defense Department operation to collect and analyse reported UFO sightings. Pilots attempting to understand what they see can be heard in this video published by the Department of Defense, which, however, refuses to specify the date and location of the incident. However, reports indicate that the program, which put some of their designated funds towards an aerospace research company, has continued to operate clandestinely within the Pentagon.

Bigelow told the Times that, "Internationally, we are the most backward country in the world on this issue". And no one else in the U.S. Senate was allowed to know! He said that he joined the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences, founded by former Blink-182 gutarist Tom DeLonge.
