Willie Taggart slated as FSU's new head coach

Willie Taggart waves to fans after his debut as Oregon Ducks coach in a 77-21 win over Southern Utah on Sept. 2 at Autzen Stadium

What would be an awesome feat if Taggart were to coach in the Las Vegas Bowl for OR but then 11 days later be on the sideline for Independence Bowl where Florida State takes on Southern Miss.

OR head football coach Willie Taggart is leaving the Ducks program to become the next head coach at Florida State University.

Taggart confirmed the agreement to ESPN, and the school has scheduled a news conference for 11 a.m. Wednesday to introduce him.

Taggart will be tasked with restoring a Florida State program that has failed to live up to expectations the last two seasons.

The 41-year old Bradenton native coached at South Florida for four seasons before going to Oregon. It's unclear who will coach the team for the game.

As the ink is still drying on Jimbo Fisher's monster 10-year, $75 million contract with Texas A&M, his previous school found his replacement in Tallahassee.

Israel strikes Syria based on Fake story by BBC
Earlier, a senior Israeli official vowed to bomb Syrian President's palace if Hezbollah continued to expand its sway over Syria. According to reports from Syria, Israeli surface-to-surface missiles were fired at an Iranian base southwest of Damascus.

Taggart coached at South Florida before he took the Ducks job, and he is considered a strong recruiter in the state. Taggart also coached running backs at Stanford under Jim Harbaugh.

The Florida State football program has its new leader.

At USF, Taggart took the Bulls from a 2-10 record his first season in 2013 to a 10-2 mark last season before he departed for Oregon.

The Ducks play in the Las Vegas Bowl against Boise State on December 16.

The Willie Taggart era at OR is over after just one season.

While his overall record may be underwhelming, Taggart holds a 25-9 record in the past three years.
