Elon Musk has big agenda for SpaceX's big rocket

Taxpayers Likely to Foot Billion-Dollar Bill After SpaceX Crash

SpaceX Falcon Heavy fired 27 engines, on Wednesday with the 39A launching pad at the NASA Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

The exercise, known as a static test fire, is created to test the Heavy engine's health, and collect data on its flight readiness.

SpaceX posted a tweet right after un-holding firing that, "First static fire test of SpaceX Falcon Heavy complete - one step closer to first test flight!" While BFR will be something like a factor of three (or more) larger and more powerful than Falcon Heavy, SpaceX's Falcon Heavy testing already easily makes them the first private company to genuinely fund, develop, and operate a super-heavy launch vehicle. Musk wrote on Instagram that test launches usually carry mass simulators made of concrete or steel blocks, but that seemed "extremely boring" and he wanted to launch something "unusual". Musk has repeatedly warned the rocket could explode. SpaceX also announced plans to fly a Crew Dragon spacecraft with two passengers on a circumlunar mission in late 2018 using a Falcon Heavy.

"Falcon Heavy hold-down firing this morning was good", the CEO tweeted.

If the launch goes as well as the static test, the Falcon Heavy's second stage will carry the vehicle into a Mars-adjacent orbit.

Mourinho To Sign New Bumper Deal At Man Utd
United has been linked with a move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez , with Manchester City also interested in the Chile global . It is believed that the discussions had started earlier this season and have been successfully concluded.

According to Space X, when the Flacon Heavy lifts off it will be twice as powerful as any operational rocket on Earth. I want to make sure to set expectations accordingly'. "Will be in deep space for a billion years or so if it doesn't blow up on ascent", Musk said.

Moreover, the new rocket's booster stages can be reused, which SpaceX claims will save money.

"Based on the data available, our team did not identify any information that would change SpaceX's Falcon 9 certification status", Lt. Gen. John Thompson, commander of the Air Force's Space and Missile Systems Center, told Bloomberg News in a statement. If all goes well, the rocket could be well on its way to fulfilling its role in helping humans reach Mars.

Falcon Heavy is expected to weigh at least 3.1 million pounds and produce approximately 4.7 million pounds of thrust during takeoff. His entrepreneurial spirit has extended beyond automotive pursuits into areas as freaky as The Boring Company - a business he intends to use to spearhead a network of high-speed underground tunnels to trim his LA commute - and as lofty as SpaceX, an effort Musk hopes will eventually put earthlings on Mars.
