The Hong Kong government said in a statement Friday it had noted media reports that the Lighthouse Winmore had been seized. Its crew - mostly from Myanmar and China - were being questioned by the customs office and the intelligence agency.

Last year, hackers were able to get their hands on several episodes, prompting HBO to air them before the release date.

"As the biggest hit in HBO's history, one the subscription service hoped to continue for additional seasons, keeping the show around a while longer isn't a bad thing", wrote Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd.

Game of Thrones Season 7 aired in summer of 2017 and previous seasons had usually run in the spring.

Showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss announced in 2016 it would finish with 13 episodes spread over a final two seasons. Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin as co-executive producers.

The fans are extremely excited for this release, and many already have different ideas about what will happen in the final season.

The medieval fantasy series has millions of fans worldwide who were anxiously waiting for season eight of the series to release this year but the creators of the show have announced that they will skip 2018 and delay the release of the season finale till 2019.
