North Korea's ballistic missile accidentally hits own city

North Korea Might Have Accidentally Hit Its Own Cities With A Missile

Updated | North Korea's pursuit of a missile capable of reaching the USA caused accidents along the way, The Diplomat reported Wednesday, referring to a missile test failure in April 2017.

The Diplomat reports North Korea launched a Hwasong-12 intermediate-range ballistic missile that failed shortly after launch in April.

The failed April 28 test was the first run of the so-called "March 18 revolution" engine which, after it survived a successful run on its fourth attempt in May, became the platform for the ICBM launch.

However The Diplomat has revealed the missile crash-landed in the North Korean city of Tokchon causing significant damage to buildings there.

The Daily Mail noted that the city of Tokchon is inhabited by about 200,000 people.

The unnamed source pointed out where the rocket had landed and Google Earth images taken on May 18 past year, just weeks after the launch, appear to show damage to a greenhouse-style structure at the same spot.

Tokchon, where the missile landed in April 2017, is seen north of Pyongyang.

Paris Hilton Said 'Yas!'
Hilton celebrated their exciting news with photos of the proposal, and (more importantly) the ring on Instagram . Once the news broke, a source told Page Six , "They have never been happier and they make the flawless couple".

The missile launch went largely unnoticed due to its failure, but concerns were raised in Washington about the risk of an accidental conflict starting in the event of a similar such failure.

North Korea spent much of 2017 touting the advancements made by its missile and nuclear weapons programs, much to the rest of the world's chagrin.

It marked the first missile launched since one was sacked across Japan and into the Pacific Ocean on September 15.

North Korea's incessant missile testing throughout 2017 escalated tension with the US; and by the looks of it, 2018 is not going to be any better.

The revelation that the missile hit an unintended target raises new questions about the possibility that North Korea could accidentally start a nuclear war if an errant missile were to hit a country like Japan or South Korea. The Diplomat said that it was impossible to determine if there were any casualties, though the time of day and the location of the impact site meant the death toll was unlikely to be high, if any. It is believed that the success of the missile paved way for Hwasong-14/KN20 intercontinental-range ballistic missile (ICBM), unveiled by North Korea previous year.

It was reported Wednesday that Kim had opened a border hotline to his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in, restoring a direct channel of dialogue, which had been non-existent since the latter got elected previous year.
