Yesterday The Queen's granddaughter, Princess Eugenie, announced she would Wednesday James Brooksbank this autumn in the Windsor venue that will see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot in May.

Princess Eugenie of York, 27, is Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter, Prince Andrew's younger daughter and Prince William and Prince Harry's cousin.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have announced their engagement in a statement from Buckingham Palace.

After dating for roughly seven years, the couple reportedly got engaged in Nicaragua this month.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will Wednesday later this year at Windsor Castle's St. George's Chapel, the same venue of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May. Ferguson posted on Twitter a picture of her daughter with her soon-to-be son-in-law and wrote on it, A total embrace of goodness and joy. "I was over the moon ..."

Congratulations are in order for Princess Eugenie. Both weddings will take place at St George's Chapel in Windsor.

"Granny she knew right at the beginning, she was one of the very few people at the beginning and we left her this weekend and had a lovely time and she was very happy, as was my grandfather", Princess Eugenie said.

"We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son, a brother and a best friend", the duchess added.

Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson, Princess Eugenie's mother, quickly took to social media to gush about the couple.

The engagement announcement was followed by congratulatory messages and thrilled reactions from the British royals and Brooksbank's family.

But a gem expert has revealed Eugenie and Jack have raced ahead of the pair when rings are involved, as the Princess' bling costs double that of the USA actress.

The church in the grounds of Windsor Castle, west of London, is where Princess Eugenie's first cousin Prince Harry is set to marry United States actress Meghan Markle on May 19.

Eugenie, who studied English and history of art at Newcastle University, is now a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser and Wirth in London.
