Steyer won't run in 2018, but leaves door open for 2020

"My fight is not just in California, my fight is in removing Donald Trump from office and from power".

To that end, Steyer said he planned to invest $30 million in NextGen America for grassroots organizing in ten states: Arizona, California, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

"I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help save our country", Steyer said.

Many observers predicted that Steyer would run either for governor of California in 2018 or for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Dianne Feinstein (D), but in a Monday interview, Steyer said, "I'm not going to run for anything". One option made sense - a primary challenge against Dianne Feinstein, the four-term-plus Senator who is already the oldest Democrat in the upper chamber. Young people came out in droves to help elect Democrats Doug Jones to the Senate in Alabama and Ralph Northam to Virginia's governorship.

Steyer's investment is an extension of the work his nonprofit, NextGen America, has done organizing on college campuses and online since 2014. "This tide will wash away the stain of the Trump administration".

Success! Trump's Bogus Election Integrity Commission Is Over
Clinton received more than 2.8 million more votes than Trump nationwide. Jon Husted has said voter fraud does exist in OH , but it's rare.

In 2017, Steyer launched a campaign to impeach President Donald Trump.

The ads have drawn Trump's ire and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) has called the effort a distraction, telling the Los Angeles Times in October that impeachment should only be about "facts and the law," not policy disagreements. He reportedly spent about $20 million on his Need to Impeach campaign and pressured Democrats to remove Trump from office if they win the House majority in the 2018 elections.

Steyer did not specify how much money he would be putting in the new campaign. When asked about the 2020 elections-and who he could support-he declined to look beyond the immediate horizon of the midterm elections.

"We now know that the Oval Office can not reshape a man who does not believe in constitutional democracy", Steyer said. "We really don't have the ability to know what's going to happen after that". "This Republican Congress is willing to aid and abet a unsafe president because holding him accountable would put their agenda at risk".
