North Korea says United States is considering attacking them

North Korea threatens inter-Korean relations could suffer amid criticism

Rumors have swirled around Washington for weeks that Trump and his cabinet may be considering what has been dubbed a "bloody nose" attack on North Korea, likely similar in method to the ballistic missile strike Trump ordered against a Syrian airfield responsible for a chemical weapon attack carried out on civilians in rebel controlled territory.

This joint effort by USA and its allies will not only spread the cost of such a defensive umbrella but also show the solidarity and unity of our allies that may have seemed to weaken in recent years.

The US today accused Russia, China and North Korea of expanding their nuclear weapon programmes to "threaten other peaceful nations". (Mutually Assured Destruction) position that has kept nuclear war at bay for decades.

In the last few relations have been largely defined by North Korea's six tests of nuclear weapons, its development of long-range missiles capable of striking targets thousands of miles away, and its continual threats to strike the United States and South Korea with nuclear weapons and conventional forces.

Asked later what the basis was for the assessment that North Korea would soon be able to hit the United States with a nuclear weapon, he said he had "no new information to share". In December, the United Nations unanimously approved the economic punishment of the dictatorial regime after its latest launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, signalling it may be capable of hitting the US mainland.

"Ultimately, it is an enormous gamble to believe that a particular type of limited, pre-emptive strike will not be met with an escalatory response from Kim Jong Un, and neither the United States nor our allies should take that lightly", they wrote. The regime continues to work on its ballistic missiles and nuclear programs.

Disney shares up on earnings beat, but revenue falls short
Media networks segment's revenues were flat at $6.24 billion, while parks and resorts units increased 13 percent to $5.15 billion. Disney first announced the service back in August 2017, but few specifics about the platform have emerged since.

Wood's dire warning comes about two weeks after Central Intelligence Agency director Mike Pompeo made a similar prediction - telling CBS that "North Korea's nuclear weapons program is continuing to expand, advance, become more powerful, more capable, more reliable".

He also said arsenals in China and Russian Federation were expanding, drawing rebukes from their respective delegations.

"In view of the nature and scale of USA military reinforcements, they are created to make a preemptive strike against the DPRK", said Ju.

North Korea accused the USA of seeking to aggravate the situation on the divided Korean peninsula by "deploying large nuclear assets" nearby and laying the ground for a possible pre-emptive strike against it.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., appeared on CNN and was asked about the possibility that Trump could direct the Pentagon to conduct a "bloody nose" strike, which would be created to destroy certain aspects of North Korea's military infrastructure and weaponry before it can use it against the United States or another country.

North Korea previous year tested the Hwasong-15, a ballistic missile, which experts believe is capable of reaching US mainland, though the country isn't believed to be able to mount a nuclear device on the missile.
