On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.

Turkey's army announced though a statement, that a roadside bomb attack by Kurdish militants killed one worker on a Turkish military convoy while two more people -a troop and a civilian- were injured, in Idlib, Syria.

The Turkish government detained all the senior members of the country's biggest medial association on Tuesday, following a statement from the group criticizing Turkey's military offensive against Kurdish fighters in Syria. Turkey considers the Kurdish militia it is fighting in Syria an extension of the outlawed Kurdish rebels inside Turkey.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accused the union of treason on January 29 and more than 300 people have since been detained for social media posts criticizing the military operation in Afrin.

Yildirim's remarks came in response to comments by French President Emmanuel Macron who warned Turkey against invading the northern Syrian enclave of Afrin.

Trump Signs Order to Keep Guantanamo Open
The order says the US maintains the option to detain additional enemy combatants at the detention center in Cuba, when necessary. Mr Trump's order says this review process would continue to be used to determine whether detainees should be held.

In an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, Macron said that Turkey must co-ordinate with allies, and that its operation inside Syria must be limited to fighting terror.

Ankara has pushed forward with the operation to force the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) from the region despite worldwide concerns and reports of rising civilian casualties.

Turkish forces kept up air strikes and artillery fire on northern and western parts of Afrin, a predominantly Kurdish region, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group.

An Armenian family that fled the Armenian Genocide 100 years ago and found security and stability in Afrin, was attacked by the Turkish massacre that followed them even in Afrin to be the victims of the bombing of the Turkish warplanes in the center of Rajo district, Hawar News Agency reported.
