Ninja Video with CNBC Reveals How He Convinced His Parents to Let Him Compete

Epic Games' Ed Zobrist told crowds at GDC that Fortnite: Battle Royale took only two months to develop and was originally not going to be a free-to-play game.

If the dual Heavy Shotguns trick catches on, fans can expect Epic to react with another nerf in the near future. Epic Games has found this magic equation with Fortnite, a game that has everyone - gamers and not - begging for invites just to give it a spin.

Ninja will also have benefited greatly from a recent high-profile Fortnite gaming session with rapper Drake, which he said during the stream had added 10,000 subscribers to his Twitch channel alone. His monthly earnings went from at least $350,000 per month to an astounding $500,000 a month.

But a certain player benchmark, and a realization of the excitement players had while playing Fortnite, caused a huge tonal shift in how Epic marketed its Battle Royale mode, and the game as a whole.

Save the World launched July 21, and Battle Royale followed on September 26, with the bulk of the work taking place after July 25. All the kids out there: you can't just drop everything to focus on playing video games for a living. Once on the map, you search for weapons and other defensive items to help hunt down other players.

Siri bug in iOS 11 enables access to hidden notifications
Ironically, the Apple Messages app seems to be somewhat immune from the bug because you need to say "Ok Siri read my messages". Another workaround for the iOS bug requires you to completely disable Siri whenever your iPhone is locked.

Zobrist explained Epic knew Fortnite was a game that would evolve and change over time, and that they wanted this idea conveyed to players.

"While Fortnite had a slow start on Pornhub, it has steadily gained ground over the last several months to become one of our top video game related terms", the XXX site explained. They didn't. The game style was first popularized by another heavily played game: PlayerUnkown's Battleground, which launched in March 2017 (see the chart above). The last person standing is declared the victor of the match.

We may have alluded to this previously, but the game got very popular by the time 2018 rolled around. It wasn't until the final two weeks of development that the team switched to a free-to-play mode that would be seperate from Save the World.

While the game's lowest spec is decreasing, Epic stated an intention to tackle 4K resolutions on Xbox One X.
