Is Richard Sherman Done In Seattle? Teammates Tweet Farewells To Cornerback

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman looks on prior to the game against the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is telling teammates he does not expect to return to the team for the 2018 season, according to a report. "Haven't been told anything", Sherman wrote in reference to Jeremy Lane's tweet.

Sherman is scheduled to meet with Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and General Manager John Schneider Wednesday "to discuss his future", according to National Football League insider Tom Pelissero.

The NFL Network also reported that Sherman was scheduled to meet Monday with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider to discuss his future.

Per Gee Scott of 97.3 KIRO FM, Sherman noted he isn't pushing to be traded and "would prefer to start over if released" by the Seahawks.

Last year, the Seahawks reportedly put him on the trading block, but no deal was made.

And safety Kam Chancellor posted on Instagram to thank Sherman for granting him the nickname, "Chancellor of Operations".

According to athletic contract website Spotrac, Sherman is coming into the final year of a four-year, $56 million contract that carries an average annual value of $14 million.

Sherman also suffered the first significant injury of his career last season, tearing his right Achilles against Arizona on November 9 and ending his season, snapping a streak of 99 consecutive starts.

Both Sherman and Bennett were with the Seahawks during the team's Super Bowl XLVIII championship.

The speculation around Sherman, who is set to carry a $13.2 million cap hit next season, became intense Wednesday after a number of social media posts by his teammates.
