Alexa laughing bug has users creeped out Amazon is working on a fix

"We're aware of this and working to fix it", a rep for the company said in an email.

Music streaming service Deezer has announced it is now compatible with Amazon Alexa, meaning it can respond to voice commands via any Alexa-enabled device.

According to user reports online, Alexa appears to be laughing without being prompted.

Alexa's laugh isn't the only thing that's freaking out users.

And while Alexa may be a great personal assistant, customers and users of the device got a bit more than they bargained for when they noticed a change in Alexa's behavior.

The speakers use always-listening microphones to detect phrases like "Alexa", and some people worry that they could be collecting additional data that could be used by marketers or even law enforcement.

Forbes Billionaires List 2018: Mukesh Ambani Richest Indian, Ranked 19th Globally
Collectively, the world's 2,208 billionaires hold 9.1tn dollars more than three times the gross domestic product (GDP) of the UK. The U.A.E. with 7 entries, has the highest number of billionaires from any country, followed by Egypt with six billionaires.

NBC News reports the laughter, sometimes heard as a childlike cackle, is happening at inappropriate times.

The unprompted laughter was a trending topic on Twitter for a while.

No, you're (probably) not being haunted, it's just Amazon's Alexa voice assistant malfunctioning in a profoundly creepy way. Some users have resorted to unplugging their Echo devices to ensure that Alexa can not interject anything, ominous or not.

Riad Hawa, VP Hardware Partnerships, Deezer said: "We're very excited to launch Deezer with Alexa in 66 countries and across a wide range of Alexa supported devices".

Amazon had no comment on what, exactly, the problem is, or when it might be fixed. You can even access Deezer's Flow feature through Alexa which will play music continuously until you ask Alexa to stop, which is flawless if you're in the mood for music all day and night.
