Minnesota Timberwolves sign Derrick Rose for the remainder of the season

Report: Derrick Rose Signs with Timberwolves After Cavaliers Trade, Jazz Release

Derrick Rose played a season with the Knicks after leaving Chicago.

- The Minnesota Timberwolves are signing point guard Derrick Rose for the final 16 games of the regular season.

He rejoins former Chicago Bulls teammates Taj Gibson and the now injured Jimmy Butler. Rose, who did not play on Thursday, was used sparingly by Cleveland this season and at one point left the team for two weeks because of personal issues.

But Rose is already onto his fourth team at age 29, which is a reflection of his downfall due to injuries over the past several years.

Three can't-miss first rounds from Indian Wells
Serena Williams says she's thinking about it and "it would be amazing". "I don't need any more motivation", Williams added. One of them is to try and play long enough for her daughter to watch and appreciate what she has achieved.

But then along came Rose's old coach from his Chicago Bulls days, Tom Thibodeau. He was with NY last season and started this season with Cleveland, but appeared in only 16 games with the Cavaliers. Thibodeaualso seemed optimistic about working with Rose again, telling reporters, "We just thought he could help the team - that's what our expectations are". I think he's seen a lot of different things, he's a familiar with what we're doing, he's played with some of the guys we have.

The Cavaliers sent Rose to the Jazz in their blockbuster trade February 8, but he was waived just two days later. Rose would most likely be playing backup #Point Guard to Jeff Teague, with the opportunity to work with Crawford on the second unit and increase the efficiency of the Timberwolves' bench play. I'm not here for stats or anything like that. For his career, Rose is averaging 19.2 points and 5.8 assists.

Moses Malone, one of just four National Basketball Association players to win MVP on different teams, and Bob McAdoo each played for seven different teams.
