One-handed Griffin sprints stunning 40-yard-dash at NFL Combine

2018 NFL Draft scouting report: Shaquem Griffin

NFL prospect Shaquem Griffin completed 20 reps on a bench press drill at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Saturday - all with just one hand.

The former UCF star sprinted an unofficial 4.38 40-yard dash Sunday, becoming the fastest linebacker to do so since 2003.

Griffin was putting his talents on display at the NFL Combine on Saturday when he busted out some eye-popping numbers in front of scouts.

Griffin, a linebacker from the University of Central Florida, is attempting to make his way into the professional ranks despite losing his lower left arm aged four to pre-natal condition Amniotic Band Syndrome.

For what it's worth, at least one National Football League evaluator believes Griffin will be drafted at the end of the third round or early in the fourth. He was a pass-rushing linebacker over his last two seasons at UCF, but spent his first two years in the program in the defensive backfield.

Do YOU want to write for GiveMeSport? "I think I beat that by a lot", Griffin told reporters at the combine.

Wednesday weather: February bows out with rain, wind
We are still a few weeks away from spring, and will get a reminder that winter is still here, when rain changes to snow Tuesday . The low will dip to 31 amid blustery conditions that include a northwest wind of 21 to 23 miles per hour .

A highly productive and decorated player for the Knights, Griffin lined up all over the field, and dominated everywhere he went. It didn't stop him from being named the American Athletic Conference defensive player of the year.

"So many people are going to have doubts about what I can do, and obviously, it started at the bench press", he said.

Griffin told reporters, "It was wonderful, hearing the crowd and having the juices flowing, I mean I felt it". I couldn't believe he got the late invite here.

If you are an National Football League team, this kid is worth a spot on your 53 and is going to get his teammates fired up every single play. At the end of the day, you have to show people what you can do.

"If I can inspire one, and they can inspire another and (soon we'll) inspire a thousand", Griffin said.
