Riyadh's Iran Accusation Aimed at Covering up Own Crimes in Yemen

Ahead of Trump Decision, Four Israeli Military Chiefs Oppose Nixing Iran Nuclear Deal

He made the remarks in response to a letter submitted by his Saudi counterpart, Abdullah al-Muallami, to the Security Council demanding that Iran be held accountable for allegedly supplying Yemen's Houthi fighters with ballistic missiles.

The Saudi letter to the UN coincided with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in NY.

Saudi Arabia sharpened its rhetoric against Tehran after Saudi forces shot down a flurry of missiles launched by the Iran-aligned Houthis on Saudi cities late on Sunday.

One Egyptian was killed and two of his countrymen were wounded by falling shrapnel in Riyadh, authorities said, with residents reporting loud explosions and bright flashes in the sky shortly before midnight.

A military coalition led by Saudi Arabia on Monday threatened retaliation against Iran, accusing the country of being behind multiple Yemeni rebel missile attacks on the kingdom.

The coalition intervened in Yemen in 2015 to push back the Huthis who captured the capital Sanaa and forced the government into exile. It's mere propaganda to boost the threat of Iran and the Houthis.

Trump suggests United States military foot the bill for border wall
After the crowd emphatically responded " Mexico ", Trump agreed, adding "100 percent". It's unclear how serious Trump was about funding the wall through the military .

"Iran has enabled the conflict in Yemen to spill into neighboring countries and undermines worldwide efforts to resolve the conflict, exacerbating the suffering of the Yemeni people".

These attacks prove that Saudi Arabia and the Coalition must continue fighting to restore the legitimate government in Yemen and liberate the capital from the hands of terrorists.

"It is not the first time Saudi Arabia enters into correspondence against Iran in order to cover up its defeats in Yemen, and the worldwide community is well aware of this fact", Khoshrou was quoted as saying by Iran's state TV.

"They may make similar moves in order to be seen to be doing something, but it won't really change the dynamics of the conflict", said Jane Kinninmont, Middle East expert at Chatham House in London.

Diplomats and analysts say that the coalition has few other options short of direct action against an Iranian target, something that remains unlikely unless a Houthi rocket takes out a valuable Saudi asset.

In a Tuesday statement, Iran's Foreign Ministry said that the Saudi rulers can not cover up their repeated defeats in Yemen by levelling accusations against others.
