Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak On Why He Will #DeleteFacebook

Apple Co-founder Wozniak Latest To Delete Facebook Over Data Scandal

Facebook has estimated that as many as 87 million people possibly had their personal data improperly shared with firm Cambridge Analytica.

"Users provide every detail of their life to Facebook and..." Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg also said previously that the users of the social media giant should pay for their privacy if they didn't want their personal information used for targeted advertising.

Current Apple chief executive officer Tim Cook started in on the tech criticism of Facebook in March during a joint interview with Recode and MSNBC, according to USA Today.

San Francisco - Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has left Facebook over concerns about how the company treats users' private information. He also noted that Apple makes money off its good products, not its users.

Additionally, almost all of Facebook's users could've had an app siphon off their user data without their consent at some point during their Facebook lives. "Mark Zuckerberg buys all the houses around his for privacy and buys extra lots in Hawaii around his for privacy".

"I am in the process of leaving Facebook", he wrote.

Interestingly, Wozniak posted his goodbye message as a Facebook post, which has since disappeared because Wozniak's Facebook profile (simply called Woz) no longer exists. To this Cook said, "I wouldn't be in the situation".

'Black Panther' to overtake 'Titanic' in all-time domestic box office gross
Its follow-up and the biggest Marvel film to date, Avengers: Infinity War will release this month on 27th, and it, too, is expected to shatter multiple box office records.

While Wozniak's comments might be read as merely parroting the Apple company line, he has spent many years outside the company espousing independent viewpoints, spotlighting his appreciation of Android phones and his lack of synchronization with Apple's marketing efforts.

Wozniak also compared Facebook's money-making tactics to that of Apple. And he heaped praise on Apple for respecting people's privacy.

Wozniak said he didn't like the way the company collects user data for advertising purposes.

Last month, we covered the #DeleteFacebook movement, and it looks like it's still going strong.

WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton was the first to speak out, just three days after the news broke.

According to a survey of 750 U.S. internet users, Facebook and Instagram are still tops, Thill found, with 93 per cent using Facebook and about 50 per cent using Instagram.
