Apple iPhone Pursues Touchless Control & Curved Screens For Future Models

HomePod Stereo Pairing And AirPlay 2 Might Arrive With iOS 11.4 As Per Latest Reference

A new report purportedly coming from "people with knowledge of the matter" says Apple is working on bringing curved screens to its smartphones, a move which may happen in around 2-3 years. The first is support for touchless control, which the sources who leaked the project said will let consumers carry out some tasks by performing gestures above the screen without touching it. This iPhone display would have a screen that curves inward gradually from the top to the bottom of the phone. It will release a second iPhone with that type of screen later this year; a larger model with a 6.5-inch screen, up from the 5.8-inch size in the current iPhone X. The company is also working on an update to the iPhone X's size and a new, lower-cost LCD model. According to a new report, Apple is now working on curved iPhone displays which may arrive in a couple of years.

We're still combing through the release notes to see what new features are being introduced, but there are already some good guesses about why Apple might be following up with iOS 11.4 beta 1 so soon after releasing iOS 11.3.

Apple didn't respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

Here's how Noor Salman reacted when verdict was read at Pulse trial
Salman's attorneys argued that their client was not an accomplice but a simple-minded victim of her husband's infidelity and lies. Salman will now be reunited with her 5-year-old son, who has been living with relatives in California.

According to a Bloomberg report this morning, the company is developing two new technologies for its smartphone that could significantly change the user experience.

Samsung now uses smartphone screens that curve, but its curved screens slope down at the edges, rather than from top to bottom. Bloomberg also reiterates its belief that Apple's microLED display technology is three to five years away.

The feature shares similarities with the Air Gestures capability that Samsung Electronics Co. Apple is still in the early development stages with those technologies. This feature used a motion sensor on the phone's bezel instead of being built into the display. Back when including everything but the kitchen sink in phones was a thing, Samsung allowed users to control their Galaxy S devices by doing things like waving their hand over the display to scroll.
