Buhari For Second Term In 2019

Buhari to Contest in 2019 Nigerian Elections

A statement by presidential spokesman Garba Shehu says the Nigerian leader is headed to the United Kingdom on an official visit ahead of the Commonwealth Head of Governments meeting (CHOGOM).

The development was made public by the president's personal assistant on new media, Bashir Ahmed.

He said Buhari's interest to seek for second term smacked insensitivity against the backdrop of the earlier piece of advice for him not to re-contest in the face of rising cases of insecurity, excruciating poverty, horrific conditions of the citizenry and unemployment even attested by the worldwide community.

"The President felt so happy and excited because of this unity in the party; he will now consider and also accept the appeal by several members of the society, party and everybody that he will contest the 2019 election".

The governors include Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Abubakar Bello of Niger State, Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State and Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State.

A Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed, has said that Nigerians will regret it if they vote President Muhammadu Buhari into office again.

The Wizards took Boston to seven games in the second round last season - but that was a very different Celtics team. That gives Danny Ainge more leverage should he include one of those players in a blockbuster deal for a third star.

"President Buhari needs to consolidate on the achievements his administration has recorded in over three years, especially in economic growth, anti-graft war, security and youth development".

"The Buhari / APC led Federal Govt has brought untold hardship, excruciating pains and debilitating poverty on Nigerians". I have sat in different meetings with different groups and the president and all of them the reason they came was that they run for a second term in office.

Obasanjo's Advice Meanwhile, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo in a 13-page statement had blasted President Buhari and advised him not to seek re-election in 2019.

"President Buhari needs a dignified and honourable dismount from the horse".

"It is just a matter of serving the country and If he feels that he has done it with the best of his ability that is just it, " Adesina said.

Mr Buhari, however, stated that the terms and conditions of the loan were unknown but could only be determined at the point of issuance of finalisation based on prevailing market conditions in the International Capital Market (ICM).
