Here's how Noor Salman reacted when verdict was read at Pulse trial

Wife of Pulse nightclub killer Omar Mateen found not guilty of aiding husband's attack that left 49 people dead

Noor Salman, widow of Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen, was acquitted Friday of charges related to the June 2016 massacre in Orlando, Fla.

Salman will now be reunited with her 5-year-old son, who has been living with relatives in California.

Relying heavily on an alleged confession from Salman, federal prosecutors charged that she and Mateen had scouted out potential targets together - including Disney World's shopping and entertainment complex - and that she gave him the "green light to commit terrorism".

Jurors at the court in Orlando on Friday found Noor Salman not guilty of obstruction of justice, and for providing material support to Mateen before the mass shooting, one of the deadliest in modern U.S. history.

"This case is about what she knew and what she did", Assistant US Attorney Sara Sweeney said.

Salman's defense team said that her only crime was marrying "a monster", and they described her home life as one filled with abuse and adultery.

"The family really wants to first say that we're very sorry for the family members and friends of the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting and also the survivors of that terrible attack". "The charges were aiding and abetting and obstruction of justice".

The family said it did not know when or if Noor Salman would be returning to the Bay Area. It's a frightful, random, senseless killing by a monster.

Defense attorney Fritz Scheller told reporters the victims' families were "extraordinary people" and thanked them for their decorum and dignity.

Track & Field Captures Little Three Title
The 4x200 relay team of Myah Kremer, Alexis Cole, Georgia Reemitz and Addison Rodel crossed the line fifth for five points. In varsity events, Kataryess Griffin competed in the 100-meter dash, finishing sixth with a time of 11.66 seconds.

Salman's statement to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the hours after the attack appeared to play a key role in the case.

"On this Good Friday, the family wants to say we're very sorry for the family members and friends of the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting and also the survivors of that awful attack", a representative from Salman's family said.

It was also revealed in court that Mateen initially planned to attack Disney World, one of Orlando's biggest attractions, by hiding his gun in a baby stroller, but was put off by the heavy police presence.

"It was a hard case for all sides involved", said Judge Paul G. Byron of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

"He said out of his mouth that he was doing this for a specific reason to avenge the people of his country", she said.

But the defense portrayed her as an easily manipulated woman with a low IQ and argued that she signed a false confession because she was exhausted after extensive questioning and feared losing her young son.

"The bottom line is that, based on the letter of the law, and the detailed instructions provided by the court, we were presented with no option but to return a verdict of not guilty", the statement read.

Salman's attorneys argued that their client was not an accomplice but a simple-minded victim of her husband's infidelity and lies. The case against her mainly consisted of a so-called confession she made to the police after intense questioning for over 17 hours.

In the statement, Ms Salman said over "the last two years, Omar talked to me about jihad".
