IPL 2018: CSK vs MI Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings hit 33 sixes in all – 17 for CSK – in the dramatic game beating the 31 in one IPL game set by Chennai and Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this month and Delhi Daredevils and Gujarat Lions in 2017. (P

Both the franchises are the top two teams as far as the track records of teams in the IPL is concerned. The match will start at 8 PM IST on April 30, 2018. With the second victory of the season, Mumbai jumped to sixth from the bottom in the 2018 Indian Premier League standings.

In an ideal scenario, CSK would have played the game at Chennai but Cauvery protests saw the venue shift to Pune. The match can be seen live on the Star Sports network and live streaming will be available on hotstar.com.

When the two sides met earlier in this year's league at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, CSK had pipped Mumbai Indians by one wicket and with a ball to spare. Mumbai can look up to Suryakumar Yadav, who has two fifties from four matches. Captain Rohit Sharma has failed to fire in five of the six games and so has Kieron Pollard.

But Bravo dismissed the fellow West Indian Lewis and gave away just five runs in the 17th over, leaving Mumbai to score 37 off final three overs. Kohli will need to study his tactics after his batsmen delivered - South Africans Quinton De Kock (53) and AB de Villiers (68) plundered 103 for the second wicket in under nine overs - but his bowlers failed.

Rohit then made sure that there were no more hiccups as he added quick 42 runs for the third wicket with Hardik in 3.3 overs to win the game in the end. Sam Billings came and went back to the dugout for the addition of just nine runs to the team total, while Ravindra Jadeja was bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal to leave CSK in a spot of bother at 74 for four.

Rohit Sharma (c), Evin Lewis, Ishan Kishan (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, JP Duminy, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Markande.

On the other hand, CSK would take confidence from their last win when a vintage Dhoni helped the team chase a stiff target of 206 against RCB. As far as Chennai is concerned, spinners would be the key on a comparatively bigger ground and focus will be on Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar who have done a great job for the team so far.

Keeping in view their fine form, Chennai will once again be the favourites in Saturday's game against Mumbai.

Raina then walked into the middle and played the ideal second fiddle to in-form Rayudu, taking Chennai close to the 100-run mark.
