Kisner, Brown move into lead at Zurich Classic

Michael Kim and Andrew Putnam lead PGA's Zurich Classic team event

Looking for redemption after last year's playoff loss to Cameron Smith and Jonas Blixt, the SC duo sit at 20-under par - one clear of the Tony Finau/Daniel Summerhays and Andrew Putnam/Michael Kim teams.

Kisner and Brown began the round one stroke behind Putnam and Kim but teamed up for five birdies on the first nine holes.

Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown will carry a one-shot lead into the final round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans after shooting eight-under 64 on Saturday. Both teams were one shot back. Kisner and Brown shot a 2-under 70.

Longtime playing partners from their days growing up in SC, during which they won many golf tournaments together, Kisner and Brown have carried each other too many times to count over the years.

At the same finishing hole previous year, Kisner chipped in from 94½ feet for an eagle that forced a sudden-death playoff which Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith won the next day in four extra holes.

The tournament goes back to best-ball play Saturday. For those unfamiliar: In a scramble, each player hits a tee shot. We've been picking each other up nicely throughout these last three days. "I still think tomorrow is going to be kind of a shootout day, so probably have to shoot something low".

Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar discuss their highlights from a strong second round in New Orleans and their interesting on-course celebrations!

The latest order, they said, was infected by the same flaws as the previous ones. "They embraced them", Katyal argued. The administration has since removed Chad from the list, citing its improvement of its vetting programs.

Here's a simple equation: The world's best players + a scoring-friendly format + ideal scoring conditions = birdies. They topped a crowded leaderboard that featured 13 teams within four shots of the lead.

"I'm sure we would have been fine, but any little movement by them and no chance I would have made solid contact", he said. "It's not a good feeling".

Spieth wasn't the only big name that struggled in the tournament.

US Open champion Brooks Koepka and Marc Turnesa shot a 67. So did teammate Lucas Glover.

Garcia and Cabrera Bello, a potential Ryder Cup pairing for Europe at Le Golf National in September, followed an five-under par opening round with a one-over 75 which saw the Spanish duo post two gains but make three dropped shots.

The victor in Thailand in February in her return from reconstructive jaw surgery, the long-hitting Korda had six birdies - three on the first four holes - and a bogey to reach 9 under. They finished runner-up and lost in a playoff during a Monday morning finish a year ago.

England's Charley Hull was 7 under after a 68.

Ko has two previous victories at Lake Merced among her 14 wins overall, but she hasn't won since July 2016 and has changed instructors twice since then, along with switching caddies and equipment.
