Panic Ensues As Window Panel Comes Off Mid-Flight During Turbulence

Severe turbulence in Air India flight window panel falls off three injured- Watch

An Air India flight from Amritsar to the national capital experienced turbulence soon after take-off last week, leaving at least three persons with minor injuries and a dislodged inner window panel. The inside of a window panel (18-A) came off.

"Three passengers who were injured were given first aid in the aircraft and on arrival into Delhi and went on their connecting flights thereafter", an Air India spokesperson said, adding that the airline is conducting an inquiry into the incident.

The three passengers who were injured were not seriously hurt but were treated upon landing for minor injuries.

A senior Air India official told The Times of India, "This was a freak high level turbulence".

A probe has now been launched by aviation regulator the Directorate Basic of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Plane Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) into the Air India incident.

The duration of Amristar-Delhi flight is about 35 minutes.

Can Rudy Giuliani handle the job every other high-powered lawyer turned down?
Giuliani said he made the decision in recent days after sharing a dinner with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last week. Giuliani had a notable career as a federal prosecutor before he became mayor of NY in 1994, a position he held until 2001.

There was no official statement from Air India about the incident.

The strong gusts knocked the plane for around 10 to 12 minutes, according to officials.

The engine explosion on Southwest Flight 1380 on Tuesday was caused by a fan blade that broke off, The Federal Aviation Administration said.

"The outside window die not break and there was no de-pressurisation".

The airline equivalent of a "wardrobe malfunction" reportedly caused panic on the flight, but a viral video of the incident, captured by a steady-handed passenger, showed that all 240 passengers onboard were remarkably composed (I would have gone into Bollywood-esque hysterics before passing out).

Footage taken by a passenger shows fear spread throughout the cabin as an air hostess tries to fix a window panel back onto the wall in front of terrified passengers. Sudden turbulence resulted in injuries to 22 passengers and crew members. One of the injured passengers received stitches after the jet landed safely at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.
