Watson's ton helps CSK score good win over RR

IPL 2018 points table CSK go top after thumping win RR remain 5th

The win propelled Chennai Super Kings to the top of points table with three wins and a loss from four games with a better net run rate.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans were livid after their home venue for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 had to be changed from MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai to Maharashtra Cricket Association Ground, Pune as an outcome of the Cauvery controversy.

Warne also praised his countryman Watson for his century.

It was Rajasthan's third defeat in five games of this season.

This was the first match for CSK being played in Pune after their home matches were shifted out of Chennai. CSK were shepherded by the 36-year-old Australian, who hammered 106 from 57 balls, making full use of a dropped chance in the very first over on a flat track.

United Kingdom approach to Irish border issue 'ignores food concerns'
A British government spokesman added: "We have been clear that we will protect Northern Ireland's place in the United Kingdom internal market".

The incident took place when Dhoni was coming in to bat after Suresh Raina's wicket fell.

In their last match against Kings XI Punjab, Ambati Rayudu (49) and Dhoni (79) nearly handed Chennai a hat-trick of wins but they fell short by four runs. The pair put on 44 in 28 balls to take CSK over the 200 run mark.

The knock completely knocked out Royals and it would have been extra special for Watson because it came against his former team and like Chris Gayle proved that age is just a number and there is no substitute for experience. But, the way he played was incredible. On the dropped catch, he said, "I'm not sure". Rajasthan were never able to get going and were bowled out for a mere 140 in 18.5 overs.

However, all-rounder Ben Stokes, who was bought for a whopping Rs 12.5 crore, has failed to fire till now.

Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Karn Sharma and Dwayne Bravo all picked up 2 wickets each for CSK, while Shane Watson and Imran Tahir picked up a wicket as well. After winning the toss, the Rajasthan Royals elected to field first, but were not good enough in front of a masterclass from Watson.
