Your 7 Day Weather & Air Quality Forecast | Saturday, April 14

The Denver area will see a mix of rain snow and high winds Friday

Average high temperatures for this time in April are in the upper 50s to lower 60s so we will be well above that.

With that said, hail will be our main concern this evening from some of the strongest storms and that may lead to slick spots on area roads this evening. New snow accumulations of about one inch are possible, the weather service said.

Sunday is a First Alert Weather Day. We'll see a few more clouds by the afternoon, keeping temperatures a couple of degrees cooler in the upper-70s.

Temperatures in the Salt Lake and Tooele valleys were expected to range from highs near 50 to lows in the lower 30s on Thursday. Highs will return to the lower 80s for your Friday.

Forecasters expect more rainy and windy conditions on Friday throughout the mid-valley, with gusts reaching 25 miles per hour in some locations and highs in the mid-50s.

Highs Thursday were only in the 40's, or about twenty degrees below average.

A strong system swinging in early next week will kick up a chance of late day showers on Monday with accumulating snow on Tuesday before clouds clear out later in the week. Clearing overnight but mostly cloudy by Saturday morning. Then there is a chance of showers after midnight. Look for 40 miles per hour winds, 2-4 inches of snow and hard travel conditions. Throughout the day tomorrow, a mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow is possible. Morning lows Sunday will cause headaches for those who have planted cold sensitive plants with temperatures dipping into the low to middle 20s. Be sure to enjoy it, as a dramatic change is on the way for the second half of the weekend, which will be much cloudier, cooler, and wetter than Saturday.

If you have Friday evening plans outdoors, I would certainly pay close attention to the radar and be prepared to move indoors if a strong storm approaches, but the main issues Friday evening will come from the gusty south winds, which will continue at times over 30 to 35 miles per hour.

Tuesday: Sunny and a little warmer.
