Rooney eyeing shock Everton summer exit

Wayne Rooney happy at Everton – Sam Allardyce dismisses claims striker is ‘frustrated’ with role at Goodison Park

'The Wayne Rooney saga continues on doesn't it.

The US club tried to sign Rooney last summer when he left Manchester United but he chose to complete an emotional return to Goodison Park instead.

Wayne Rooney has spent the past 16 years of his footballing life in the Premier League.

The team, led by legendary coach Bruce Arena, played its inaugural match in April 1996 and soon established itself as one of the best teams in the young soccer league, winning consecutive MLS Cups in 1996 and 1997.

Wayne Rooney is considering leaving Everton in a shock summer transfer.

As was the case a year ago, Rooney has no shortage of offers to move overseas, lucrative deals possible in the United States or elsewhere.

But shortly after returning to Beirut, he withdrew his resignation and mended broken fences with Hezbollah. "Who knows", she said. Under the terms of the new law, voters cast two votes, one for a list of candidates and one for a single preferred candidate.

The talks are thought to have gone well with Everton willing to let the 32-year-old leave Godison Park.

The Daily Mail reports that Rooney has told the Everton hierarchy that he intends to make the switch to America.

"A top quality player for me is the only player we should be looking at, " he added.

Rooney, who has 11 goals this season but last scored in December, is said to be frustrated over his role under Sam Allardyce, having only competed a full 90 minutes four times under the new boss.

Although it now seems there is a serious chance that Rooney could be plying his trade on the other side of the Atlantic before the end of summer, there's also the possibility he may remain on these shores. Rooney was played mainly as a midfielder, a decision that has aggravated the lifelong Everton fan.

"But Wayne in himself on a day-to-day basis loves his football, he doesn't miss a [day of] training and he wants to play well like everyone else".
