Melania Trump Visits Immigrant Children at Border After Telling President to End Separation Practice

Melania Trump went to Texas to show she cared about migrant children. The event was reported as Trump ending family separations, but that is far from true.

This visit was an attempt to lend support to those caring for the immigrant children, although Trump did not make a public statement about the plight of separated families until this past Sunday.

Left-leaning criticism isn't necessarily a concern for the first lady.

But the olive green jacket she wore as she boarded the plane for Texas - daubed with the words "I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?" on the back - appeared to undercut the message of compassion.

It moves parents with children to the front of the line for immigration proceedings, but the Trump administration said it did not end the 10-week-old zero tolerance policy that calls for prosecution of immigrants crossing the border illegally under the country's criminal entry statute.

Melania Trump's surprise visit to a Texas facility housing migrant children sent there by the USA government drew more attention for her wardrobe than her actual visit. "I think we're going to see hundreds of cases where the children are permanently separated from their parents, becoming wards of the United States", he said in an interview with Global News.

First lady Melania Trump made a surprise trip to Texas on Thursday to visit border facilities amid the administration's crisis over the separation of families.

"Spending time with them reinforces the fact that these kids are in this situation as a direct result of adult actions", she said. The agreement mandates that children be placed in the "least restrictive setting" possible, and also that they are held no longer than 20 days. After Trump's executive order, a host of unanswered questions remained, including what will happen to the children already separated from their parents and where the government will house all the newly detained migrants, with the system already bursting at the seams.

Grisham said any questions about her choice of jacket (it was raining heavily in McAllen when she arrived) are as inconsequential as the criticism on social media a year ago about the towering heels Trump wore to get on Air Force One when she traveled to Texas to see recovery efforts after Hurricane Harvey. "She told him "I am headed down to Texas" and he was supportive". "I feel very strongly about it", the president said in remarks as he signed the executive order Wednesday.

On Tuesday, for example, the President said in a tweet that Democrats "don't care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our Country, like MS-13". The official refused to be identified discussing Trump's private conversations with his wife.
