Guardiola hits back at Toure: 'It's a lie and he knows it'

Guardiola Labels Toure A Liar Over Claims About Having Problems With African Players

PEP GUARDIOLA has branded Yaya Toure's accusation he has an issue with African players "a lie".

The Ivorian made one Premier League start last season as City cruised to title glory under Guardiola.

The storm was unlikely to clear without a response from the City manager and, speaking in Spain, Guardiola finally responded yesterday and denied there is any truth in the suggestion he is racist or treated Toure badly.

"We have been together during two years".

"He never told me face to face".

"He is beloved, he is calm, he loves football and I'm very pleased with the success he has had", said the manager, per the City website.

Eto'o and Ibrahimovic were traditional strikers who came alive in the box but didn't contribute much to the team build up, something Guardiola considers an important attribute from his forwards.

I'm not done yet! - Durant display not his 'defining moment'
Past year we were up 2, and he pulled up pretty much right at the three-point line and got a great contest, but he made it. James set an early tone barely two minutes into the contest with an unbelievable dunk with an assist from the backboard.

Pep Guardiola has said that his Manchester City side were not the greatest Premier League team ever.

"Toure previously spent two years playing under Guardiola at Barcelona, too, before he was sold to City by the Catalan coach in 2010". When you see the problems he (Pep) has often had with African players, everywhere he has been, I ask myself questions.

"You know, Guardiola can not be called a dog", he told Sport24. He'll never admit it [not liking Africans].

Former Blaugrana coach Guardiola remarked: "Now I am less intoxicated about what happens here". It was a generation of brutal players and the best player in the world (Lionel Messi).

"I am a coach and I am good at what I do, you can't be everything", he said.

Yaya Toure left Manchester City at the end of the 2017/18 season.
