Harry Kane says England will be 'aggressive and brave' at World Cup

Kevin De Bruyne has told Eden Hazard to stay calm if he receives rough challenges

England begin their Group G campaign against Tunisia on Monday, before matches against Panama and Belgium.

Kane says the current squad will bring a fresh approach to this summer's World Cup, though, saying: "The aim is to be aggressive and courageous in possession".

"We have listened to compelling interviews from Rio and Frank and Steven and we've used those to say we've got to make sure we put those club situations to one side, but I don't think there is that intense rivalry at the moment between our top clubs that there was then", he told reporters.

Vardy who is in the Three Lions squad for the World Cup, reflected on how they were dumped out by Iceland two years ago.

Ever since England won the World Cup in 1966 and thus set unrealistically high expectations for every squad that proceeded them, the relationship between the media and the England team has grown increasingly toxic. But for us it's to play attacking football, to score, and that's important.

"Everybody wants the end result, and everyone wants to go and win".

Chelsea star Hazard claimed earlier this week that the Red Devils" so-called "Golden Generation' will mean little if the team can not win a major trophy, and his brother, who now plays for Borussia Monchengladbach, agrees that the players have the ability to lift the trophy.

'Everybody is looking forward to getting to the first game'.

"I've always felt you go through spells: the ball goes in sometimes and other times it doesn't, like in August every year for me". So that's big tournaments.

It will be the first World Cup appearance for the Tottenham striker, and Kane said that he wants to improve his scoring record in the big tournaments. It is the one competition that everybody dreams of winning.

And they have chosen a song by Glasgow-born Lonnie Donegan for the dubious honour, with the track known as World Cup Willie.
