'I'm so happy': Dennis Rodman weeps as Trump and Kim meet

Pompeo tries to reassure North Korea about denuclearization

Asked by a reporter how he felt about the summit, Mr Trump said: "Very good".

Donald Trump held the "upper hand" in his historic handshake with Kim Jong-un, according to an expert in languages and linguistics.

On Tuesday, the two leaders will begin their meeting with a one-on-one session at 9 am local time. "We have watched the struggles, and the sacrifices and the progress of the people", he said. Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) mentioned that the summit is being held "under the great attention and expectation of the whole world".

The US side however reportedly believes that an immediate tangible outcome is unlikely following the meet. "And if we're not willing to do that, we're not going to get a good deal", Graham said, complementing the global community - including China and Russian Federation - for standing behind Trump in regards to sanctions on North Korea.

The two leaders first met privately with interpreters, and then with members of their respective delegations.

"The entire world is focusing on the historic summit between the DPRK and the U.S., and thanks to your honest efforts. we were able to complete the preparations for the historic summit", Mr Kim told Mr Lee through an interpreter.

Justify wins Triple Crown; Gronkowski the horse gets second
At that point, Gronkowski was charging from the back of the pack, and he was able to run a stellar race and finish second. At the Belmont hanging with Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert and Winstar Farms owner Kenny Troutt and his wife Lisa.

"I also think I'll know whether or not it will happen fast.it may not".

But in a media conference after, Mr Trump went further, unveiling details not in the agreed text.

Kim, who was sitting alongside Trump, said through a translator, "We had a historic meeting and made a decision to leave the past behind and we are about to sign a historic document".

"I think better than anybody could've expected", Trump told reporters at the time, as Kim smiled beside him. North Korea's supreme leader seeks a formal end to that war, which has frozen the Korean peninsula in a state of conflict throughout the modern era and has kept almost 29,000 U.S. troops indefinitely stationed in the south, as well as an injection of foreign direct investment.

Just meeting with Trump will also give Kim recognition as the leader of a "normal" country and as an equal of the U.S. leader. "I truly hope it will be a successful summit that will open a new age for the two Koreas and the United States and bring us complete denuclearisation and peace".

Having acknowledged that the U.S. - DPRK summit - the first in history - was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tension and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future. Seoul lives under constant threat of an attack by North Korea, and the country's leadership has been adamantly promoting diplomatic talks in order to avoid a full-blown conflict, especially as Pyongyang appeared closer to developing a nuclear weapon that could fit on an intercontinental ballistic missile. "If diplomacy does not move in the right direction ... those measures will increase".
