Israelis and Palestinians gear up for fresh confrontation

Jibril Rajoub speaks at a press conference in front of the Argentinian representative office in the West Bank city of Ramallah

Israeli troops opened fire on the Palestinians gathered near a Gaza fence on May 14 to protest against the inauguration of U.S. embassy in al-Quds. "IDF troops are reinforced along the Gaza Strip security fence in order to protect security infrastructure and defend Israeli civilians in the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip from the attempted terror attacks led by the Hamas terror organization". It said at one location at least two Palestinian militants fired guns at its forces and others had thrown grenades. It is the forced removal of 750,000 Palestinians from their homes to clear the way for Israel's establishment in 1948.

Tehran has railed against the United States decision to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the first country to do so for decades, in a move that effectively saw Washington recognise the contested city as Israel's capital.

Since March 30, more than 120 Palestinian demonstrators have been martyred in eastern Gaza - and thousands more injured - by intense Israeli army gunfire.

WAFA, the official Palestinian news agency, said Haitham al-Jamal, 15, and Ziad Jadallah Bureim, were shot and killed east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza; Yousef al-Fasih, 29, was killed east of Gaza City; and Imad Nabil Abu Darabi, 26, was killed east of Jabalya, in northern Gaza. At least 413 Palestinians were wounded, including 80 by live fire, Gaza health officials said.

Activist Ahmed Abu Artima said: "We want to remind the world that the Israeli occupation is committing the same massacres that the Nazis committed".

A Palestinian was on life support in a Gaza hospital on Friday after being struck in the face by a tear gas canister fired by an Israeli soldier.

He said: "It's important for us to show with the Roadster that an electric vehicle can outperform a gasoline auto in every way". The first Model 3 has already entered that line.

Near the Israeli fence separating Gaza from the occupied territories, Palestinians are expected to throng the site which has become the scene of bloodshed in recent weeks.

"For over 50 years, since the Israeli occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories in 1967, Israel has been continuing its aggression, occupation policies and grave violations of Palestinian rights and all covenants and global law principles", said the AL senior diplomat.

Emmanuel Nahshon, spokesman for Israel's Foreign Ministry, described Gaza protesters on Twitter as "hateful morons" and "Hamas Jugend", the latter a play on "Hitler Youth" in German.

During the war, Israel seized control of East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as well as the Syrian Golan Heights and Egyptian Sinai Peninsula. Statehood talks have been frozen since 2014.

The move follows the US veto of a Kuwait-sponsored resolution in the Security Council on June 1 which US Ambassador Nikki Haley called "grossly one-sided" for deploring the use of force by Israel while not mentioning Hamas which rules Gaza.
