Lakers Rumors: LA's Pitch to Sign Paul George Has Been Revealed

While Magic Johnson plays it cool regarding his chances to add major free agents to the Los Angeles Lakers, pressure to create his own superteam in L.A. may be mounting behind the scenes.

Leonard has been adamant that he doesn't want to step into the San Antonio locker room again, and the Spurs have been adamant that they won't be forced into a trade, or a timetable, prior to the February trading deadline, league sources said. It has always been expected that Brown would have to be the centerpiece of any Boston package for Leonard, along with next year's Sacramento pick. According to the ESPN report, the Lakers came away from their initial conversation with San Antonio about Leonard as if the Spurs had "shut the door on us".

For the Lakers, it's a dicey position, offering some of their young core players and future draft picks, knowing it would rid them of their depth if they do land a super-team or harm their future if they land Leonard, but not George or James. That certainly plays in favor of the Lakers, as Leonard has stated that's where he wants to play. However, Leonard's quadriceps injury along with him becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2019 mean the Celtics likely won't be willing to pay the high price the Spurs demand for their star. When Irving first told the Cavaliers he wanted a trade, he gave them a list of four preferred spots: the San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat.

Star Wars Spin-Off Films Reportedly On Hold
By planning for the new Johnson trilogy , and Benioff and Weiss series of films, we can look forward to something new and fresh. Regardless, this is having an impact on Disney's plans to expand the Star Wars mythology with more Star Wars Story spinoffs.

Though some are starting to believe George might actually stay with the Thunder, it's seemed like a foregone conclusion for more than a year now that he is headed to the Lakers, his hometown team. If the Spurs wait too long, James and George can make their decisions, and the Lakers could move on from Leonard, knowing they may sign him next summer.

Making things even trickier is that James wants to make a quick decision about where he's headed next once free agency begins on July 1, per ESPN.
