Lionel Messi Talks 'Great' Antoine Griezmann Amid Barcelona Transfer Rumours

Arsenal in shock Marouane Fellaini move with free transfer talks due

Antoine Griezmann only yesterday performed an apparent U-turn on his impending Barcelona transfer and made a decision to stay put at Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

Reports have suggested that Griezmann is ready to reject the chance to join Barcelona and sign a lucrative new contract with Diego Simeone's side.

"With good players they're easy to understand and Griezmann is one of the players that's going through a great moment in his exceptional career", he said.

Griezmann's performances this past season were eye catching as well, despite talks of him not being in the right state of mind after his move to Manchester United fell through last summer.

Griezmann has still not confirmed whether or not he's planning to stay with Atletico Madrid as both the Blaugrana and Manchester United have been linked with summer moves.

Manchester United sign Fred for £52m
The Brazilian is set to replace Michael Carrick who retired to join the United backroom staff at the end of last season. Manchester United are also expected to announce the signing of 19-year-old Porto defender Diego Dalot soon.

"It's not yet 100%, but the more quality we have, the better".

It remains to be seen whether a public endorsement from Messi might go some way to swaying Griezmann, with the five-time Ballon d'Or victor believing that the pair would work well in tandem.

His representatives are believed to be looking in England for his next team.

The 27-year-old forward - a Europa League victor with Atletico in 2017-18 after scoring 29 goals in all competitions - has a reported €100million release clause.

France's midfielder Paul Pogba (R) and France's forward Antoine Griezmann attend in a training session at the Friends Arena in Solna on June 8, 2017, on the eve of the FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifying football match Sweden.
