Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly "confirms" Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea arrival

Maurizio Sarri

Maurizio Sarri is expected to be appointed as Chelsea boss and the club have been targeting players despite the uncertainty over their managerial situation.

Speaking after Senegal's 2-1 win against Poland on Tuesday night, Koulibaly stressed that Sarri would need time at Chelsea but is confident that he will ultimately deliver exciting football.

While that view is unlikely to have changed, especially considering that Mertens's £24.5 million Napoli release clause expired last week, Sarri has reportedly told friends that he wants to take the forward with him to his next club after being replaced by Carlo Ancelotti at the Serie A club.

His return over the last two seasons is nothing short of impressive, with Mertens directly contributing to 83 goals in 94 appearances, missing just four games during this period.

'I'am disappointed that he leaves like this but we have now a big coach.

'We know we can win something with him.

May's Brexit Bill Returns: A Guide to the Main Voting Battles
Former deputy prime minister Damian Green wrote in the Sunday Express that the majority of the crucial votes would "pass easily". She gave them a personal assurance that MPs and peers will be given a say in the final stages of the withdrawal negotiations.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Sarri's predecessor, Antonio Conte who is still officially Chelsea's manager but likely to be sacked soon already tried to convince the Chelsea board twice to sign the Napoli front-man twice, unsuccessfully so. I hope he can win something with Chelsea.

Gianfranco Zola's agent has said he has not yet had any contact with Chelsea amid reports that Zola left his role as a pundit on Tuesday to fly to London.

'When a coach like this comes he needs time.

The Spaniard's future at Chelsea has been under the scanner with Juventus believed to be interested and even the Blues have been linked with a move for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.

The coach is known to be a master tactician and would also work well within the structure of the club's transfer policy.
