Texas man bitten by severed rattlesnake head almost dies

WABCA Texas man is recovering after he was bitten by a rattlesnake that he had just decapitated

A man has narrowly avoided death after being bitten by the severed head of rattlesnake in Texas, US.

Jennifer Sutcliffe and her husband were doing weekend yard work when she spotted a four-foot rattlesnake. In a separate incident a man was bitten by the severed head of a rattlesnake.

Sutcliffe said she called 911 and began driving her husband the 45 miles to Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi, but she said he began having seizures, losing his vision and bleeding internally.

"Some people are saying we deserve it, it's karma", Ms Sutcliffe said.

Bill Clinton says no private apology to Monica necessary
She said she had always considered the relationship consensual, but the #MeToo movement shifted her thinking on the subject. Former President Bill Clinton is out and about promoting a new book , and his interviews are opening some old wounds.

"I reached down to pull out a little area of grass that was growing around one of my flowers, and I nearly grabbed the snake", she told The Washington Post. The average number for snake bite is four doses, Mrs Sutcliffe said. The man is in stable condition. Trauma surgeon Michael Halpert said although dying from a snake bite is rare, it happens. "He had to rip the snake's head off", Jennifer said".

And no matter how many times you've seen some roo head do it in a Hollywood movie, don't attempt to suck the venom from the wound.

First aid advice for snake bites includes keeping the patient as still as possible, applying a pressure bandage to the wound and using a splint if bitten on an arm or leg.

And by the way, you may think that you should treat a snakebite victim by sucking out the venom: don't do that, says Dr. Halpert. The man then beheaded the snake with with a shovel. Living snakes typically strike quickly and rear back from whatever threat they perceive, but because the one in this instance was dead, it most likely latched on until someone forcibly removed it.
